Obituary of Alex Kanyi Kinyenje, MBA, CPA

It is with heavy and humble hearts that we share the news of the passing of Alex Kanyi Kinyenje of Boyds, Maryland, USA. Alex passed away in his sleep on July 1st, 2023.

Alex was the beloved son of the Late Chief Inspector Bernard Kinyenje Kimani and the late Anne Wangari Kinyenje. He was a Loving husband to Jane Mulinge Kanyi and a doting father to Gianna and Maria Kanyi. Alex was an ever-present rock to his siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, and community as a devoted and selfless advisor who was always ready to help.

Alex was baptized and confirmed in the catholic faith. Alex was a faithful member of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He attached a lot of attention to his spiritual growth, and followed in his mum’s legacy of praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and helping anyone in need.

Alex was dedicated to excellence on behalf of the Montgomery County Government as Finance Section Chief, where he was awarded Manager of the Year for transformational business process improvements in budgeting and leading a high-performance team in achieving organizational objectives.

Alex was an avid Science and Technology (Stem) Advocate who championed the value of education and continuous self-improvement, He enjoyed travelling and swimming with his daughters. He was a great chef, enjoyed sports, and was a financial guru.

Alex was a beam of light that touched many lives; he will be remembered as a Loving Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Cornerstone Son, Nephew, Cousin, Godfather, and Best Friend. Alex’s laughter permeated any room with joy, and his beautiful smile and personality filled everyone around him with love. We will forever hold your memories close in our heart and emulate the love and care you gave to everyone.

Eternal rest grant unto Alex, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of ALL faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
